After 11 incredible seasons, Modern Family airs its series finale on Wednesday — ending with a legacy that will live well beyond its decade-plus run.
Time and time again, the show transformed people’s perceptions of the LGBTQ community through characters like Mitchell and Cam, a married same-sex couple trying to raise a family, and showed Americans that queer people can have the same hopes, dreams and ambitions in life as everyone else.
From marriage to adoption, the show used humor and heart to teach its viewers invaluable lessons on the importance of LGBTQ visibility and embracing family — chosen or otherwise — as they are.
To celebrate Modern Family’s show-stopping end, the Human Rights Campaign is putting together a special digital thank you letter to the show's cast and crew. Add your name!
