Critical funding for programs that support our communities, and LGBTQ people specifically, are determined by the Census — a nationwide population count by the federal government that occurs once every ten years.
Moreover, this count ensures our elected leaders at all levels of government are representing roughly the same number of people.
Unfortunately, the Census may miss or undercount thousands of people across many marginalized backgrounds unless we organize to make sure everyone is counted in this process.
Even though the Census does not explicitly ask about our sexual orientation and gender identity, it is still vital for LGBTQ people to be counted. Please pledge to be counted today and encourage others in our community to be counted as well!
