Congress is voting to erase trans students from schools nationwide!

The anti-equality controlled U.S. House of Representatives can’t get over their obsession with attacking trans kids. This week, they are voting on a bill that would ban schools across the country from teaching about gender identity, using students’ correct names and pronouns, having books with trans characters – or even acknowledge the existence of trans people.

This isn’t policy. It’s cruelty. Tell your Representative to vote NO on this horrendous MAGA bill. Send a message now — we’ll help you draft it.

Thank you for taking action with the Human Rights Campaign.

Here are some talking points you can copy and paste to personalize your letter below before sending:

🧡 For Parents:
As a parent, I know that every child deserves to be seen, respected, and called by their name at school. When we force educators to misgender students or out them to their parents without their consent, we're not protecting kids — we're putting vulnerable young people at risk. My child's school should be a place of learning and safety, not a battleground for political attacks. I'm asking you to vote NO on H.R. 2616 because all of our children — including transgender students — deserve to thrive.
🏳️‍⚧️ For Trans People:
I'm a transgender person, and I'm asking you to see me — and young people like me — as fully human and deserving of dignity. When I was younger, having even one teacher use my correct name made the difference between feeling invisible and feeling like I mattered. Bills like H.R. 2616 would have made my life immeasurably harder and more dangerous. Trans kids aren't a political talking point — we're your constituents, your neighbors, and we deserve to exist safely in our schools and communities. Please vote NO on H.R. 2616.
🤝 For Allies and Accomplices:
I'm not transgender, but I believe that every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect — especially kids. I'm deeply troubled that Congress is spending time attacking vulnerable students instead of addressing the real challenges facing our country. The trans people in my life are my friends, family members, coworkers, and neighbors, and I won't stay silent while politicians try to erase them. I'm asking you to stand on the right side of history and vote NO on H.R. 2616.
