Anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-immigrant, Kristi Noem cares nothing about Homeland Security for all Americans.

After the brutal and senseless killing of Renee Nicole Good by a federal ICE agent, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem rushed to assert that Good had “weaponized” her vehicle against federal law enforcement in “an act of domestic terrorism.” 

However, analyses of multiple videos contradict Noem’s wrong and reckless account of events, and now the FBI has barred state and local law enforcement from participating in the official investigation.

Good’s family and the people of Minneapolis deserve an independent, full and fair investigation that includes state and local law enforcement, real accountability and decisive action — not hyperbole and lies, interfering with the investigation and sidelining local officials.

We call for the immediate resignation of Kristi Noem as Homeland Security Secretary and the inclusion of state and local law enforcement in the investigation of Good’s killing. And as Governor Walz requested, we join the nation in standing with the people of Minneapolis.
