We have to unite and oppose all of their attacks against LGBTQ+ people, people of color, women and everyone else who doesn’t conform to their agenda. Tell your Elected Representatives to focus on real issues affecting Floridians and stop waging culture wars during this session!

As a Floridian and a proud supporter of Equality Florida and the Human Rights Campaign, I am writing to ask you -- please stop the culture wars against LGBTQ+ people in Florida!

There are so many real crises and needs facing Floridians. Instead of truly building a free Florida that is open and welcoming to all, legislation this session is focused on dividing our communities and targeting vulnerable people in our state. I’m asking you to be a part of real solutions and help stop these petty and hateful culture wars that are all part of Governor DeSantis’ extreme agenda.

I oppose the following bills: 
-Attacks on transgender people, their healthcare, and the documentation they need to live their lives freely in Florida like HB 1421, SB 254, and HB 1521/SB 1674.
-License to discriminate in Healthcare like HB 1403 and SB 1580 that violate The Hippocratic Oath taken by doctors and medical providers to do no harm.
-Censorship in schools like the expansion of the “Don’t Say LGBTQ+” law, (HB 1069/SB 1320), and interference in university curriculum and DEI programs (HB 999/SB 266).
-House & Senate memorial statements (HM 1319/SM 1382) opposing LGBTQ+ service members revisiting “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” and the transgender military ban even though the FL legislature doesn’t set military policy.
-Attempts to limit local control like banning Pride flags (HB 1011/SB 668) and preemption (SB 170/HB 1515).
-Near total restrictions on reproductive healthcare like HB 7/SB 300.
-Attacks on immigrants like SB 1718/HB 1617.
-Threats to public safety by expanding gun access like HB 543/SB 150 and HB 221/SB 214 in the state where Pulse and Parkland victims continue to call for more gun law reforms.

I also oppose any other legislation not listed here that targets LGBTQ+ people or other minority groups in Florida that should be protected, not targeted, because of who they are or who they love.
