This latest onslaught of bills in Tennessee takes away the rights of trans youth, their parents and their doctors to make their own best-practice healthcare decisions that are informed by medical standards of care. Criminalizing drag artists is simply outrageous. It wastes taxpayer money, risks artists’ livelihoods, hurts small businesses and diminishes Tennessee’s legacy of entertainment. We need to let our legislators know that Tennesseans condemn these unnecessary and overreaching laws.
These are just the latest. Tennessee has now passed more anti-LGBTQ+ legislation than any state in the country. Tennesseans don’t want to be known for this! Signing our pledge lets enemies like Governor Lee and extremist lawmakers know that no state should be a place for hate.
