Help Protect Marriage Equality

Tell Your Senators to Pass the Respect for Marriage Act

The Senate will soon vote on the Respect for Marriage Act, which would shore up marriage equality nationwide. This legislation has already passed the U.S. House of Representatives with overwhelming bipartisan support — including 47 Republican votes — demonstrating widespread public support for same-sex marriage across the country. It would guarantee the federal rights, benefits, and obligations of marriages in the federal code; repeal the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act; and affirm that public acts, records, and proceedings should be recognized by all states.

The Respect for Marriage Act would codify the federal protections conferred by the Loving, Windsor, and Obergefell rulings by the Supreme Court of the United States. These landmark rulings stated that bans on marriage equality and denial of federal marriage benefits are unconstitutional.

Urge your Senators to be on the right side of history and pass the Respect for Marriage Act today!
